Navigating the nuances of a diverse and dynamic workplace are not easy. And great intentions are not always enough. Stepping outside yourself to understand the often subtle and unintentional messages our words and actions communicate can be a complex puzzle. Sema, helped us put the pieces together, creating a clearer picture and pathway to an inclusive and welcoming environment - a place where our most value assets (our people) feel heard and valued. We still have a way to go to create that place, but Sema and her engaging approach turned our baby steps into big leaps. The training session was both very interesting and very thought provoking. There was a good balance between discovering and understanding the dynamics of inclusion and diversity. What I have personally found of great interest, are the many examples of unconscious bias that are part of our cultural backgrounds and personalities. I learnt a lot about myself too.
