I’ve always had a natural curiosity about people – what shapes them, what drives them and how their stories influence the way they move through the world. If it wasn’t for my parents pushing me into a traditional career path as an accountant I would have probably become a social psychologist – that or a sports journalist – the jury is still out! 

As a woman and as the daughter of hard-working immigrants from India and Pakistan, I recognize that my way of seeing the world is influenced by these cultural identities. When you are often “the only one” in the room, you notice. You start to realize how everything you say or do is scrutinized. Naturally, you start to look for allies. 

I got my start in the DEI space almost by luck over 20 years ago. Since then, I have worked with leaders in over 85 companies in industries ranging from mining to insurance. I have offered over 1,000 hours of training and facilitation, spoken at international conferences, participated in panel discussions and podcasts, received a Merit Award in Education and Learning (🙂) and soon to be author of my first book!
